Beverly Smith J. Smith Biography

Beverly Smith is a native of Concord, North Carolina, however she has lived most of her life in Charlotte, North Carolina. She gave her life to Jesus in August of 1974, which was the beginning of a loving relationship with the Lord that has continuously grown. She was filled with the Holy Spirit one year later.

She is the wife of Larry J. Smith in their 43rd year 2010, a mother, grandmother, home manager, Image Consultant, licensed real estate agent, and she is a former instructor for More Than Conquerors College. She has academically prepared herself for life-long service. Graduating with honors, she has an Associates Degree in Christian Ministry from More than Conquerors College and a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from ZOE University. For some 18 years (1980-1998) she was a member of Victory Christian Center Church in Charlotte, NC and also served as head counselor during those years. On May 10, 2010, Mrs. Smith was recognized for her continuing work in the Lord with the conferring of an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity by Agape Bible College.

Beverly Smith Ministries (BSM) was established and founded in 1995 under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Beverly Smith Ministries Inc. (BSM) is a non‑profit 501(c) (3) Christian organization.  BSM is a teaching ministry that propels the Body of Christ to fulfill God’s will for their lives. The ministry teaches practical life skills to influence change in society, the workforce, home, church, and ministry. The vision encompasses biblical and professional career training seminars, meetings and workshops to rebuild, restore, and renew, ruined lives.

Mrs. Smith fully believes she is a vessel given to the Body of Christ to draw God’s people to a more intimate walk with Jesus. In 2003 she was ordained a Senior Chaplain with International Fellowship of Chaplains (IFOC) and awarded the honor of Second Lieutenant for her outstanding work in the community.  In 2004 she became a part of the IFOC board as the Spiritual Advisor and now is Chaplain Major Beverly Smith.

Mrs. Smith is an Ordained Minister of the Gospel and flows under a powerful anointing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Administration, Counseling and Teaching. She is the author of three books, "New Life Bible Study Series" -- a workbook designed for Christians and non-Christians, "Women in Ministry from Seed to Bloom" -- a book for women who believe they are called into ministry, and “Ministry In the Marketplace Training Manual”. Presently, Mrs. Smith is on radio and television in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The name of her program is called Throne of His Glory.

Mrs. Smith continues to live out her faith daily through the visions God has entrusted her to develop and grow:

§         BSM and Wholeness Development Programs Inc.: Our Wholeness Development Programs are community-based programs that work with women, the elderly and children involved in domestic violence and single parents coping with parental responsibilities. We aim to increase morale and self-esteem of adults and youth. Increase public awareness of resources available for specific needs, and develop women spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially

§         BSM, throughout the year, holds Destiny Conventions for the Body of Christ. These meetings are designed to help the Body of Christ fulfill their purpose in life.  Programs have included -- Ministry Start-Up Workshops, Women in Ministry Seminars, Self-Publishing Workshops,  and Living in His Presence Conventions, Workplace Development in the 21^st Century, and New Life Learning Groups.

§         BSM’s Christian Training Institute is a Ministry Mentorship Program for ministers offering Ministry in the Marketplace Classes, and Advancing Spiritually Bible Classes for Christian growth.

§         Mrs. Smith launched ABLE Kids Afterschool Enrichment Program to help 3^rd graders prepare for the End of Grade (EOG) tests, assist 4^th  and 5^th graders raise their scores above a Level 2 and her vision extended academic enrichment for 1^st and 2^nd graders to help them increase  their reading and math skills so they won’t face the same challenges by third grade.

§         Throne of His Glory Summits was launched in the Charlotte, NC area to hold services for the unsaved, backslidden, Christians in transition, and Christians who no longer attend Church. Our goal is to reach and mobilize an army of strong believers for Jesus Christ. “Mark 16:15” is the scripture that empowers this ministry team and outreach.

The difference this type of ministry brings to the Body of Christ and the world -- through Mrs. Smith’s obedience and visionary walk -- is that it is  a training institute to teach, equip and mobilize a people who know God, are equipped  for God and are going forth into all the world to do for God. BSM is moving people from a membership mentality to a warrior’s mentality. She can often be heard reminding those with ears to hear, “Jesus is coming soon; let’s get kingdom minded and kingdom ready”. As welcoming as she is, Mrs. Smith’s candor clearly let’s you know that, “If you are a pew sitter this kind of Church Ministry is not for you.”
